Small FO

I finished the cross for my sister. Its from a free pattern on the web, and the original had poinsettias. I placed tiny white roses...hard to see, but they are there.

Today's handistuff: working on my mom's cross stitch, and thinking about working on a beaded doily.

Today's puterstuff: Catching up on emails, group stuff...been working nights which REALLY puts a cramp on my style!

Today's catstuff: Weeeellll...at least we are sleeping at the same time now!

Just a picture!

Beaded doily I'm working on. Beads "un-strung"

Hmmm...that's a pretty terrible picture. Will try again later!

Weekend's over...dang it

I finished the doily from "you know where", and its on its way to the contest. Forgot to take a picture, so can't post. I'm always so ready to send things off after I get them made I frequently forget the pics.
Help from Crochetville...again! Posted that I wanted a pattern for a larger cross for my sister, and immediately got a response (thank you, thank you, Susan) for a cross wall hanging from www.freepatterns.com , it has poinsettias on the original, but will put something else on the finished piece. Since its not for Christmas.

For a Pebble Pouch Exchange on Rock_a_Beady_Crochet, recipient unknown!

Today handistuff: finished the pebble pouch, finished the contest doily, started the cross for my sister. Also started working on some 12 inch squares for another exchange. Ripped out some stitches on the counted cross stitch I'm working on...it takes longer to get them out than to get them in!

Today's puterstuff: Just email. And worked on my mom's computer. Talked her into getting a new one, cause the one she's got is just dying. Updated some pictures on www.therockingchair.us . That's about it.

Today's catstuff: I would never have guessed how much 3 cats could eat. I've had 2 cats for several years...added BittyKitty, and seems like every time I turn around I'm going after food and litter!

Ever tried to teach?

Did you ever take on the task of teaching someone, or some PEOPLE, to crochet? I taught a young lady to crochet once, she was left handed. So she sat opposite me in a chair, and just mimicked what I did. It worked, but that was just stitches. She had to teach herself how to adapt patterns and such.
I'm teaching a bunch of fellow crochet group members to read crochet diagrams...that's going well. I'm also trying to teach how to crochet a lapghan using a picture graph...that's NOT going so well. We're still trying though.
Suggestions? I've hit all the web sites I could find with graphed instructions.

Today's handistuff: Finishing up some exchange things, the contest piece, and working up the final practice piece for the diagram crochet lessons.

Today's catstuff: They're still here! Its "sleep all day" time, so we can stay up and be obnoxious all night!

Today's puterstuff: Looking for a pattern I found a long time ago...and it appears to be gone from the net.

THEY like cross stitch, too.

I guess cats don't JUST like crochet thread and yarn. Nothing is quite as fascinating to a young cat as a needle and thread going in and out of a piece of Aida cloth!

Today's handistuff: Bored! Can you say "short attention span"? So I'm making a cross stitch/bead scissor case. Just as though I don't need to be doing something else!

Today's puterstuff: Looking for some things on the internet for my son. I'm wondering why. He wants copies of some Chinese symbols...and the Korean alphabet. Last time I saw him I was introduced to his new tatoo...Chinese symbols for something, can't remember what he said. ~sigh~

Today's catstuff: Polydactyl cats have some popularity on the internet! I had no idea.

Weekend's here!

Whew! What a week...starting with a 19 hour work day on Monday! Geez...too old for that!
We've had rain. We needed it badly, so can't complain.
No luck with the spiral doily hunt...more dead ends. ~sigh~

Today's handistuff: Doily in the picture...slow going, but still enjoying the pattern. One 12" square designed...just have to write the pattern out. Starting another doily for an exchange, beaded. That's about it for this weekend.

Today's puterstuff: I can't figure out how to get a document (Word) copied to a web page...I don't want to type it out, cause I have about six pages to do...too much time. Still working on it...

Today's catstuff: Watching BittyKitty trying to figure out how to jump all the way up to the ceiling fan. Certainly hope she doesn't solve that one!

The Endless Search-installment umpteen!

I received the Burda Magazine I ordered...no luck!! Cute stuff, but no doily pattern. The search is on again!
Meanwhile back at the crochet hook...my fist attempt at copying the picture in crochet was a dud...thanks to my compadres at Crochetville, I realized I couldn't crochet the doily in one piece...its two pieces joined after completion. So started again...
Here are the results

Today's Handistuff: Working on a beaded doily for an exchange, and some squares to send to a Rocker!

Today's Puterstuff: Take a wild guess!...will be looking for an elusive doily pattern!

The endless search---too!

No luck. Still on the trail...but things go slowly in foreign languages! Several people at Crochetville are helping out...it will happen!

Today's handistuff: working on beaded bags, a crochet along from rock_a_beady_crochet. Working on a couple of Russian doilies.

Today's puterstuff: Gotta get some updating done on the website.
www.therockingchair.us is a couple months without update!

The beaded bags I'm working on. The gold will have amethyst beads. The varigated will have blue.
Glass pony beads purchased from The Jolly Store! Thanks!

Normal-toed Cats, too!

Seems like every time I take a picture of my crochet...there's a cat hanging around.

BittyKitty is nosy.

Jazz just loves a comfy sleeping place.

Libby is my crochet thief. She loves a crocheted "bed"

A Looonnnng 2 days

Business trip, boring, but finally home. Crocheted a little, I have a hard time sleeping in motels. I always take something to crochet.
The cats missed me...

Today's handistuff: Found something new to crochet with! It is Darice Metallic Cord (gold) for Plastic Canvas. Okay, its a little rough going through my fingers, but its turning out nice. Making a small bag for whatever.

Interesting? LOL

Today's puterstuff: 2 days worth of email. Might not sound like much to some...but it takes me a while! Some time spent at Crochetville, just looking around, meeting new members. Also some group home page clean up at RABC and RCC
